6 Easy Ways to Get Rid of Clutter - Curves Welcome

Curves Welcome with Suzie Carr

Clutter is like the sneaky cold virus that comes in on a whisper. At first, you don’t notice its entrance. It hides in the quiet recesses of the unnoticed, slowly building on itself until it gets nice and comfy. Then it begins to multiply, stretching beyond natural, taking over territories not able to coexist peacefully in its presence. Before long, it clouds the once pure space that offered tranquility and rest. It thrives in the new chaos it forms, casting upon us an obnoxious force that inevitably overruns the very environment we need to sustain our focus, health, and overall quality of life.

Learn 6 easy ways to get rid of this clutter monster!

How to Overcome Self-Doubt - Curves Welcome

Curves Welcome with Suzie Carr

Let’s get real about self-doubt for  a minute. Quite frankly, it spreads. What starts out as a slight hesitation, grows into an all-out war with your mind. It’ll play tricks on you. It’s a clever emotion like that. It’s one of those emotions that thrives on your avoidance. The only way to deal with fear is to face it. To view it as your teacher instead of adversary. And the most effective way to do this is to embrace it by acknowledging it and learning from it through a determined desire to grow.

Tune in to learn:

  • How to use self-doubt as your teacher
  • How to seize opportunities instead of fear them
  • How to get in the game and win instead of hanging on the sidelines and missing out

The Importance of Self-Love & Self-Care

Seize the Day Podcast

Welcome to Seize the Day Podcast with Natalie Miller-Snell.

In todays show I explore the importance of Self-Love and Self-Care.

I talk through some great tips including: -

  • Good sleep
  • Food / diet
  • Taking breaks
  • Exercise
  • Activities which help you feel your best
  • Learning to say no
  • Putting yourself first

Seize the Day was inspired by my favourite latin expression, Carpe Diem. I’ve had some great mentors throughout my life who have offered me invaluable guidance. I'm hoping to do the same through these podcasts.  We have so many wonders at our fingertips; sometimes we just need a little help, or someone to point us in the right direction.

I hope you enjoy the show!

Quote from the Show by Kristin Neff, a pioneer of self-compassion: -

“Self-compassion involves treating yourself with the same kindness, concern, and support you’d show to a good friend. When faced with difficult life struggles, or confronting personal mistakes, failures, and inadequacies, self-compassion responds with kindness rather than harsh self-judgment, recognizing that imperfection is part of the shared human experience.”

(Neff & Dahm, 2015)

Les Talk About It Series: Relationships

Relationships are important for humans. We need them to survive, never mind thrive. In this series we delve into relationships and break down some statistics and realities because, let’s face it, most us just muddle through and don’t necessarily have the skillset to rally make a relationship work.

About The Hosts

Sheena comes from a media background and in 2014 she started The Lesbian Review, a website dedicated to reviewing the best lesbian books and movies. In 2016 A podcast channel seemed like a natural progression and so she started The Lesbian Talk Show

Sheena discovered lesbian fiction in her late teens and it helped her with her coming out process, something for which she will always be grateful.

Tamara is a marketing professional and has branched out into design and photography. Her natural love for research and learning meant that she was the perfect podcast partner when Sheena wanted to start Les Talk About It. (Well, that and the fact that Tamara is married to Sheena.)

Embracing Anxiety and Mental Health with Singer, Songwriter Ash Harris - Curves Welcome

Curves Welcome with Suzie Carr

I have welcomed a talented artist on today's show. We're going to chat about some of life's curves and how they helped shape the course of their life.

I am so excited to introduce you to Ash Harris, also known as Acoustic Ash. Ash is a prolific indie singer songwriter who continues to excel within the songwriting field whether it be through political poetry or the ever-emotionally evoking and sincerity of Ash's interpretation of everyday events. These events include loss, love, money, and politics.

Ash uses an acoustic guitar in a smoky, soulful expression as a platform for diversity and equality. Rumor has it that if you stick around to the end of this episode you will be in for a musical treat.

And what a treat it is!

How to Deal with Creative Burnout - Curves Welcome

Curves Welcome with Suzie Carr

It is great to have goals and desires and a steady pulse on actions. But, it’s only great as long as you are not burning the wick on both ends. Because when you do that, that light, that energy will fizzle out.

Have you ever felt this way? Completely overwhelmed and unable to continue with projects, even those projects you absolutely love? You’re not alone. Even the most passionate of creative people can end up burning out from the pressure of always trying to keep up with an unrealistic pace.

Here's how to avoid it:

  • Unplug
  • Find harmony in the work you do
  • Add wiggle room
  • Change your environment
  • Meditate with deep breathing
