Book Clips

Welcome to Book Clips, the mini podcast where authors and narrators give you a taste of a book with a short snippet.

In this episode we hear an excerpt from the audiobook for Haunting Love by KA Moll narrated by Emily Beresford

Synopsis

Anna Crestwood was raised with the strict beliefs of a religious sect nestled in the foothills of the Smoky Mountains. She's a lesbian with a ton of baggage - fearful, guilty, and alone. Very few things would compel her to leave the familiar. The job offer of a lifetime is one of them. Against her better judgment, she packs up and moves to Illinois. Unfortunately she's not there long before she's convinced that the devil is hunting her down.

Gabe Garst is a police officer. She's also a powerful medium. Her work with juvenile delinquents and ghosts is all that keeps her going. Inside she's dead, certain that her capacity to love is buried six feet under. Talking with and seeing the dead has always come easily, and yet for some reason she's not able to communicate with her late wife. She's grieving, depressed, and alone. Suicide seems like the best option. It's just a matter of time.

Anna's and Gabe's paths cross. Their attraction is immediate, but they hold back until all hope seems lost. As good battles evil, two tortured souls must engage in a struggle to overcome demons of their own.

Book Clips

Welcome to Book Clips, the mini podcast where authors and narrators give you a taste of a book with a short snippet.

In this episode we hear the an excerpt from the audiobook for Coming To Terms by KA Moll narrated by Emily Beresford

Synopsis

Coming to Terms is a love story - and so much more. It's a story of the impact of sexual abuse and addiction. It's a story of the hunt for a serial rapist turned murderer. Mainly though, it's a story of Sawyer's journey to forgive - another and herself.

Sawyer James is a cop. It's who she is and all she ever wanted to be. The job is all she has. Sawyer's alone, not necessarily because she wants to be, but because horrors in her past have left her drifting in seething waters. To move forward into a fulfilling relationship, Sawyer must come to terms.

Sage Carson is a clinical social worker. She's divorced and alone. Alone is definitely preferable to being married. At almost 40, she comes to realize that her marital problems weren't due to a lack of sexual desire, but rather, her lack of sexual desire for a man. Sage's attraction to Sawyer is an awakening. To move forward, to not spend her life alone, Sage must come to terms - with her own sexuality and with Sawyer.

In their struggle - to love - to forgive - to survive - Sage and Sawyer risk everything.

But is everything enough?

Whispers Of The Heart by KA Moll

Book Clips

Welcome to Book Clips, the mini podcast where authors and narrators give you a taste of a book with a short snippet.

In this episode we hear the first chapter of the audiobook for Whispers Of The Heart by KA Moll narrated by Emily Beresford.

Synopsis

Days after completing her fellowship in pediatric ophthalmology, 35-year-old Aki Williams travels from her home in Los Angeles to a small town in Illinois, interviewing for a job that she doesn't want. What she does want is to meet her biological sister, Jack Camdon, a sister whom she didn't know existed until she dreamt of her. Upon their meeting, many things surprise her - that Jack's a lesbian with a wife and children, that she's a dreamer who dreams in spirit animals, and that she's a medicine woman, deeply rooted in the Ojibwe culture.

Three years ago on Sunday, 43-year-old professor of archaeology Carsyn Lyndon lost her parents and her wife in a tragic accident. Since then, she's suffered from PTSD and loneliness. She's kind-hearted and handsome but dates no one. When she meets Aki at her four-year-old godson's birthday party, they're incredibly attracted to one another, and those feelings intensify during a family camping trip - a particularly interesting development for Aki, since prior to that, she'd never considered that she might be a lesbian.

As Aki comes to terms with her sexuality, Carsyn renews a vow to not make the same mistake twice - a mistake that had devastating consequences. With seemingly no middle ground, an accident will bring them together, forcing them to re-examine their priorities. But will love, even love at first sight, be enough for them to move forward as a couple?

Welcome to Book Clips, the mini podcast where authors and narrators give you a taste of a book with a short snippet.

In this episode we hear the author doing a reading from Dare to Love by A. L. Brooks

Dare to Love by A. L. Brooks

A slow-burn lesbian romance about leaving the past behind and opening your heart to new possibilities.

Investment banker Ash Taylor left her cut-throat world to set up a cool, cutting-edge tattoo studio. Her love life’s been a lot bumpier, though. Ever since a heart-breaking affair with a straight colleague, she’s vowed to steer clear of women unsure of their sexuality.

Talent-agency executive Carmen Lyttleton is straight, career focused, and not prone to distraction from her occasional casual relationships. When her best friend gets a tattoo at Ash’s studio, Carmen finds herself unexpectedly impressed by Ash and her business.

When they accidentally meet again, Carmen is shocked by the sparks between them and the realization that she feels a lot more than just admiration for Ash’s work ethic. It can’t possibly mean what it seems…can it?

The pull between the women is powerful but so are their fears, old baggage, and stubbornness. Can they dare to love?

Back To The Start by Monica McCallan

When Remy’s grandmother dies, it means leaving her life in San Francisco and returning to a town she swore she'd never revisit, forced to confront a world she'd worked hard to put behind her over the last twelve years.

She's not expecting that the first girl to ever steal her heart, the pretty, popular Fallon Lewis is still around, and in a town this small, their paths continue to cross much to Remy’s dismay. It's hard enough seeing her first love, but it's exponentially more difficult when she can barely stand to look at the woman.

Remy's trip back has the possibility to open up doors she believed were shut long ago, but she's never planned on staying, and she definitely never planned on letting Fallon back into her life.

If she thought being a teenager in a small town was hard, she's about to find out how much harder life is when there's no one but herself to blame for her problems.

Book Clips

Welcome to Book Clips, the mini podcast where authors and narrators give you a taste of a book with a short snippet.

In this episode we hear the first chapter of Poppy Jenkins by Clare Ashton

Synopsis

Two old friends, one hot summer, a whole load of confusion.

Poppy Jenkins makes everyone smile. She’s the heart of Wells, a beautiful village in mid-Wales, leaving light and laughter in her wake. She has a doting family, an errant dog and a little sister with a nose for mischief. But she’s the only gay in the village and it’s a long time since she kissed a girl: the chance of romance in sleepy Wells is rarer than a barking sheep.

If she doesn’t think too hard, life is cosy, until a smart sports car barrels into town with the last woman Poppy wants to see behind the wheel. Beautiful Rosalyn Thorn was once Poppy’s high school BFF even though she was trouble. Then one day she abandoned Wells and Poppy without explanation. Now the highflier is back and bound to cause fresh havoc in the village and with Poppy’s heart; folk are not happy.

Wells needs to wake up to the 21st century and Rosalyn can help, but old prejudices die hard. If they can be friends it could be the chance to make everyone’s happy ever after. Couldn’t it?
