  3. Planning means you can be more pro-active and improves day to day decision making
  4. Planning gives you confidence
  5. Planning gives you time to revisit and update the plan when necessary

Quote from Sophie’s World by Jostein Garrder: -

“A sculptor is working on a large block of granite… one day a little boy comes by and says, ‘What are you looking for?’ ‘Wait and see,’ answers the sculptor. After a few days the little boy comes back, and now the sculptor has carved a beautiful horse out of the granite. The boy stares at it in amazement, then he turns to the sculptor and says, ‘How did you know it was in there?’”

The Importance of Self-Love & Self-Care

Seize the Day Podcast

Welcome to Seize the Day Podcast with Natalie Miller-Snell.

In todays show I explore the importance of Self-Love and Self-Care.

I talk through some great tips including: -

  • Good sleep
  • Food / diet
  • Taking breaks
  • Exercise
  • Activities which help you feel your best
  • Learning to say no
  • Putting yourself first

Seize the Day was inspired by my favourite latin expression, Carpe Diem. I’ve had some great mentors throughout my life who have offered me invaluable guidance. I'm hoping to do the same through these podcasts.  We have so many wonders at our fingertips; sometimes we just need a little help, or someone to point us in the right direction.

I hope you enjoy the show!

Quote from the Show by Kristin Neff, a pioneer of self-compassion: -

“Self-compassion involves treating yourself with the same kindness, concern, and support you’d show to a good friend. When faced with difficult life struggles, or confronting personal mistakes, failures, and inadequacies, self-compassion responds with kindness rather than harsh self-judgment, recognizing that imperfection is part of the shared human experience.”

(Neff & Dahm, 2015)

Doing the Right Thing

Seize the Day Podcast

Welcome to Seize the Day Podcast with Natalie Miller-Snell.

In todays show, I explore a very simple concept - ‘Doing the Right Thing’.  The show was inspired by a video I posted on social media (link below).  How often do we actually do the right thing?  It can mean coming out of your comfort zone, getting vulnerable and walking into the unknown.  It can also mean a bit of self reflection.  It’s a very interesting concept and question to ask ourselves.

A Problem Shared is a Problem Halved

Seize the Day Podcast

Welcome to Seize the Day Podcast with Natalie Miller-Snell.

In todays show, I wanted to explore the basic concept of talking.  How a problem shared really is a problem halved.

We can often drive ourselves crazy and worry unnecessarily when we don’t share.  We can build things out of context in our mind until we are immobilised through fear.  So in this episode I talk about some of my experiences and some examples, to demonstrate why it’s good to talk.

How to Balance Life and Time More Effectively

Seize the Day Podcast

Welcome to Seize the Day Podcast with Natalie Miller-Snell.  In todays show, I explore how we can balance our life and time more effectively.

There are some fundamental basics we can follow in order to balance our life and time, including: leaving work ‘at work’, saying no, and taking time off.

There are also more holisitic ideals we can focus on, such as being positive and keeping your energy 'bank' high.

I hope you enjoy the show!

The Power of Intention

Seize the Day Podcast

Welcome to Seize the Day Podcast with Natalie Miller-Snell.

Happy new year everyone. I’m so excited to be starting the new year with you all.

In todays show, I want to explore the power of intention. I want to strip it back, forget about resolutions and explore how we can have clear intention with our thoughts, goals and general day to day life.

The mind is an incredibly powerful tool - our thoughts play a huge part in our life, so we need to be crystal clear what we are putting out into the world.

The simplest way to do that is to look within ourselves and ask:

  1. What do I want?
  2. How do I want to feel?
  3. What do I want to be?

In order to answer these questions, we need to focus on three things:

  • Clarity - Being clear
  • Senses - Trusting your gut
  • Openness - Being open

Hope you enjoy the show!
