Women and Words: Jove’s adventures in website design and that time Andi’s boob set off the TSA screen machine
Women and Words Overview 22-27 July 2018
Andi is still on the road, so she sounds weird. But then again, she IS weird, so there’s that. Also, steampunkis a thing and both Jove and Andi love Cliffi Henderson’s road trippin’ and have decided that TSA agents just might sometimes be on the same page as they themselves are (thanks, Renée Bess!) and then shit gets serious as they discuss Beth Burnett’s blog and domestic violence.
22 July: Author Nita Round joined us to talk about her new release, the steampunk novel Raven, Fire & Ice.
25 July: Author and Women and Wordster Clifford Mae Henderson has wrapped up her massive road trip, gives us some stories, and especially addresses women on the road.
26 July: Author and Women and WordsterRenée Bess provided her thoughts on this year’s GCLS conference (July 4-8 in Las Vegas, NV). Also, congrats, Renée, on your Goldie win for anthology!
27 July: Author Beth Burnett talks about her latest novel, Coming Around Again, and one of the themes it addresses is domestic violence between same-sex couples. Beth is also giving away THREE ebook copies of this book. You have until Wednesday 1 August to enter.
Jove gave people a heads-up on the Willamette Writers Conference, scheduled for Aug. 3-5 in Portland, Oregon. Writers, writing, the industry, connection with fellow writers and all-around awesome.
Andi then gave people a heads-up on the upcoming Western Women Writers of New Mexico gathering, slated for September 15 in Albuquerque. It’s one day, 9-5, of audience discussions with a panel of writers who address a variety of writing topics. This year, Karin Kallmaker, Anne Hillerman, Darynda Jones, and Rena Distasio are ready to go! I’ve been on the hot seat at this event and it is a LOT of fun.
